Weezy Writing!
Today I got to go on my first REAL trip! We went to a land known as 'Oklahoma City'. My human, Marisa, works there at the moment from Monday through Thursday. It sounds like a lot of work, but if I had the choice, I would travel by these large metal bird-things every week too!
On Monday, I was extremely sleepy because Marisa got me up at 4am to leave for the city known as 'the airport'. Apparently this is a place where all of the metal birds gather, sleep, and live. The humans pay the birds in order to catch a ride to wherever they may be going. There are even people devoted just to keeping the birds happy at all times! Unfortunately, it was pretty dark so I couldn't see the flock.
I don't remember much other than taking off, which was amazing. We sped down a field and the bird launched itself into the air. After that I was so tired, I fell asleep in Marisa's lap. On Thursday at least, we got a chance to spend time at the airport-land and I could watch the metal birds flock and preen as much as I wanted. Here is a picture of me intimidating a bird into submission:
The metal bird we were taking home apparently go tired and was slow getting to Oklahoma City so we had some time to spend in the airport. We went to a watering hold Marisa called 'a bar' and I was introduced to a drink called 'beer'. Marisa didn't want to share, but I managed to try just a little - it was pretty terrible. Nothing like the banquets in my day. Someone else had the audacity to also get a beer so I naturally challenged them to protect Marisa. She didn't seem impressed, but soon we left to board the metal bird that was taking us home.
The flight home was even more amazing than the flight to Oklahoma City. Marisa let me stare out the window the whole time and it never got old to me. We were so high! Flying is amazing!
P.S. I have been researching my family's history! We have all kinds of neat facts that I'll share with you. (Click the link to see where I have been researching.)
Dinosaur fact of the day:
Dinosaurs ruled the Earth for over 160 million years, from the Triassic period around 230 million years ago through the Jurassic period and until the end of the Cretaceous period around 65 million years ago.
