Day 25: Chronicles of a T-Rex Traveling - The Oklahoma Art Museum

Happy Almost Christmas from Weezy!  Today was Marisa's work Christmas party, we went to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.  They were having a big exhibit on Dale Chihuly, who does amazing things with glass.  See some of his work on his website here!

We toured the museum and then had a nice dinner.  My favorite part of the night was that I got to bring back a small piece of glass myself!

Day 20: Chronicles of a T-Rex Traveling - New York City

This week Marisa took me to a new location: NEW YORK, NEW YORK!!

This meant we got to take a very large plane to New York rather than home on Thursday.  We got in late, met up with Marisa's boyfriend Brendan and then made our way to the hotel.  We stayed at a really nice hotel that Brendan and Marisa were able to stay at for free because they travel so much.  My favorite part was that the coffee Marisa got there had an awesome logo on it.  It was like a stick-figure-human-version of grumpy cat.

On Friday we spent a lot of time wandering around the city, but of course the best place to visit was FAO Schwarz, the most popular adoption agency in New York!  I met a lot of very cheerful folks there including a largest dog I've ever seen.
I also got to meet a lot of cousins!  Some were even first generation post-asteroid.  They were pretty shy and didn't want to get pictures with me though.  I guess some folks just can't adopt modern technology.  With Christmas coming up, we even got to see small humans writing letters to Sir Santa asking for what they'd like!  I hope he brings be something great.

Brendan decided to adopt a Schwarz bear named Franz August Otto, I have a feeling we're going to be good friends.

Day 17: Chronicles of a T-Rex Traveling - Introduction to French Fries

This week in Oklahoma City I was introduced to sweet potato fries.
They were awesome.
Marisa says Sir Santa may be upset that I ate all of her fries.  But it was totally worth it.

Day 14: Chronicles of a T-Rex Traveling - Downtown Chicago

Weezy writing!  Today I got to explore DOWNTOWN Chicago with Marisa.  She and her mom had signed up for a chocolate tour.  (I hope they have pudding!)  First we headed down to a restaurant to get some breakfast and I was introduced to coffee.  I like it almost as much as pudding, but I had a lot of energy afterwards.  I have no idea why...
The chocolate tour was amaaaaazing.  We went to a lot of different new places trying everything from traditional chocolate to bacon chocolate to chocolate gelato.  I liked the gelato the most.
I think they should make a PUDDING tour some time...

Pretending to be a Plane

Marisa Writing...

This week was interesting, Weezy was SUPER excited to get out of the apartment for a while and I brought him for my work trip.  (My apartment isn't that small for the record.)  He was so riled up though, that he fell fast asleep once we got going Monday morning.  Despite all assurances to the contrary, he didn't quite follow the concept that airplanes are not, in fact, birds.

On the way home our flight was delayed and I inadvertently introduced Weezy to beer.  That was ok, until he decided to challenge coworkers for "threatening my watering hole".  Ummm, things have changed a little since your parents were in charge little guy.  It finally took pointing out that Santa would be upset if he tried to eat a stranger that Weezy finally let it go.

Regardless, soon afterwards our plane arrived and I took Weezy to our gate where he proceeded to pretend to be an airplane.  It was too adorable!

Until the next adventure!

Day 11: Chronicles of a T-Rex Traveling - Oklahoma City, OK

Weezy Writing!
Today I got to go on my first REAL trip!  We went to a land known as 'Oklahoma City'.  My human, Marisa, works there at the moment from Monday through Thursday.  It sounds like a lot of work, but if I had the choice, I would travel by these large metal bird-things every week too!

On Monday, I was extremely sleepy because Marisa got me up at 4am to leave for the city known as 'the airport'.  Apparently this is a place where all of the metal birds gather, sleep, and live.  The humans pay the birds in order to catch a ride to wherever they may be going.  There are even people devoted just to keeping the birds happy at all times!  Unfortunately, it was pretty dark so I couldn't see the flock.

I don't remember much other than taking off, which was amazing.  We sped down a field and the bird launched itself into the air.  After that I was so tired, I fell asleep in Marisa's lap. On Thursday at least, we got a chance to spend time at the airport-land and I could watch the metal birds flock and preen as much as I wanted.  Here is a picture of me intimidating a bird into submission:

The metal bird we were taking home apparently go tired and was slow getting to Oklahoma City so we had some time to spend in the airport. We went to a watering hold Marisa called 'a bar' and I was introduced to a drink called 'beer'.  Marisa didn't want to share, but I managed to try just a little - it was pretty terrible.  Nothing like the banquets in my day.  Someone else had the audacity to also get a beer so I naturally challenged them to protect Marisa.  She didn't seem impressed, but soon we left to board the metal bird that was taking us home.
The flight home was even more amazing than the flight to Oklahoma City.  Marisa let me stare out the window the whole time and it never got old to me.  We were so high!  Flying is amazing!

P.S. I have been researching my family's history! We have all kinds of neat facts that I'll share with you.  (Click the link to see where I have been researching.)
Dinosaur fact of the day:
Dinosaurs ruled the Earth for over 160 million years, from the Triassic period around 230 million years ago through the Jurassic period and until the end of the Cretaceous period around 65 million years ago.

Christmastime!

Marisa posting here!

Yesterday Weezy, my friends, and I all went out to pick out the Christmas tree for the season.  I had to explain what Christmas was to him.  He didn’t seem to get the Catholic aspect, but he was excited about Santa (or SIR Santa as he insists on referring to him)!

He was so eager to ‘prove he was good’; he attempted to stay on the roof of the car to hold the tree in place.  I didn’t have the heart to point out the tree weighed significantly more than he did and would probably win that battle.  Instead, I convinced him that perhaps we would need more protection inside the car and he could keep a lookout for us…In any event, it was certainly a valiant effort.

What does one get small dinosaurs for Christmas?

Day 7: Chronicles of a T-Rex Traveling - Christmas Tree Shopping

Weezy here!

Last night Marisa introduced me to a concept of "Christmas".  Apparently this involves putting up trees in homes, decorating them, and a jolly fat human (Santa) coming and giving presents.  After thinking about this, I can only conclude that Santa must be a knight of some sort (Sir Santa rather) if he is so devoted to a worthy cause.  The human mentioned other things about another guy, but I am much more interested in the concept of Sir Santa and what must be his royal order.

Marisa says that Sir Santa ONLY gives presents to GOOD little dinosaurs so I am going to have to work extra hard on my guardian training.  To start proving I am the best guardian ever, I took responsibility for securing the tree to Marisa’s car.  In fact, I’m so good that I secured it and then also insisted on staying up top to make sure the tree wasn’t lost.
I can’t wait until Santa comes! Only 24 more days…

Dinosaur fact of the day:
The word dinosaur comes from the Greek language and means ‘terrible lizard’. The word was coined by English paleontologist Richard Owen in 1842 and was meant to refer to Dinosaurs impressive size rather than their scary appearance.
