Day 153: The Downfall of Grumpy Cat

Weezy here:  After arriving in Nashville, I met a creature known as Jackson who lived with Marisa's friend.  I was not sure what I thought of him at first, but then he chose to teach me fighting skills against the evils of Grumpy Cat.  Clearly Jackson vanquished his foe.

He was really not that fearsome once the fighting was done, though I'm not sure if he appreciated getting his picture taken.

Day 151: Chronicles of a T-Rex Traveling - En Route

Today Marisa and I were connecting through Midway on the way to Nashville for the weekend.  We made amazing discovery...
Did you know Ben & Jerry's has ice cream with CHOCOLATE PUDDING in it?!?!

EVV, yeah you know me!

Every Easter when we go down to Evansville to visit my grandfather we fly into the Evansville Airport (EVV).  It's about a 7hr drive from Chicago (yes, really!) so flying makes the most sense when you're only going down for the weekend.

The only thing notable about the Evansville airport are some particularly painful ads they ran for a while as well as a lot of random advertisements in the terminal.  For example: a full size swing set or a car for a dealership downtown.  This year there was some very big news: EVV now had a jet bridge!  I think the "jet bridge coming soon" sign had been there since I was about 10.

Teasing aside, it is a nice little airport that is extremely convenient for our family.  One thing my brother and I particularly enjoy inspecting every year is the game room that has some classic arcade games from all sorts of time.  This year, Weezy particularly fell in love with one:
Looks like we're going to have to have a Jurrasic Park night some time in the near future!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from Weezy and Marisa!

Day 144: Chronicles of a T-Rex Traveling - Easter, Evansville and Adopted Family

Weezy here!  This weekend Marisa and I traveled to Evansville, IN where Marisa's grandfather (Papa) lives.  He's now 96 years old and still lives in the same home that her dad grew up in.  While he is certainly young compared to MY standards, I understand that's quite old for humans.
Papa became a pilot when he was just 16 years old!  He explained that flying used to be a LOT different than I travel with Marisa.  When he was flying, it was just an open cockpit!  His mom actually didn't know that he earned his pilot's license until he won a flying race and was on the font page of the newspaper.  That must have been quite a surprise!  He loves all things aviation and likes to tell about when the Spirit of St. Louis visited Evansville and he was able to help push it out the hanger.
Unfortunately since Papa is getting older we kept our visit short so that he didn't get too exhausted with all the family in town.  We will have to go back soon!

Knowing How to Travel in Style

As far as traveling Weezy has been a spoiled dinosaur... he certainly loves airport lounges.
